With no other reason than to make myself busy when a barrister (or anyone frankly) is trying to talk to me, I thought I'd have a go at a blog. Daft work really.

Can I apologise now for occasionally writing as I speak without the grammatical niceties or the usual pronouns which make sentences sound like they were written by somebody who went to school or at least can remember it? Kind of depends on the mood. Like now.

At the other end of the spectrum I tend to "Pedant" for England (which immediately causes me a problem as I really hate that Americanism of turning a noun into a verb, much in evidence during the last Olympics where some atheletes, those Americans who had been good enough to avoid the drug detectors no doubt, talked of "medalling" in certain events, a gross habit that even the BBC comentators started to copy).

However there seems to be a large number of blogs from barristers and felt that the Barrister's clerks side of things could do with a bit of balancing up.

Don't get me wrong, we are still still kicking the same piece of shit around, just sometimes kicking it in different directions. And sometimes I am the unfortunate who has to pick it up when it's gone off for a throw in when it's got particularly muddy.

Still, I expect any posts, much like my sex life, to be sporadic but hopefully entertaining. Well for me anyway (to complete the analogy).

So where to start?

As a clerk there can be only one way ...... tomorrow.
